Renovation Elation
A Halifax homeowner was undecided on what to do with an outdated kitchen and bath that was in desperate need of a makeover and the concerns that a renovation would alter the character of the home. This was a challenge Staged Image was willing to take on!
Staged Image was able to put the homeowner at ease by discussing creative solutions for the makeover and by hiring a professional contractor to do the job right. To achieve the owner’s vision, both rooms were completely gutted and thus the renovation began. New windows, flooring, lighting, cabinets, trim, and sinks were installed and the homeowner also chose to replace the older white appliances for a newer look of stainless steel to compliment the natural cherry cabinets. The homeowner wanted to keep the look of the existing pantry for her new kitchen and we were able to achieve that with a new built-in pantry from floor to ceiling. The new pantry provided an eat-in bar that allowed the homeowner to enjoy a coffee in the morning and look out into the garden in the summer months with the new window that was installed. Soft colors were selected to compliment the natural cherry cabinets in the kitchen. A warm color was used in the bath to compliment the custom tile work and vanity. The wiring in the house was not up to code so it was decided to rewire the entire home for safety purposes and the homeowner was only too happy to have it upgraded. Other smaller improvements were done at this time such as a new ceiling in the living room and dining area, and both rooms were painted to reflect the character of the home. After several months of construction the renovation was finally completed and the homeowner couldn’t be happier. Take a look at the before and after pictures and the dramatic changes that took place.
